Ken and Barbie Jewelry by Margaux Lange

As a child, just like most of girls, Margaux Lange used to play with Barbie dolls. Like most of them she teared them apart when she grew old enough to wear jewelry. Unlike others, she never threw her dismantled Barbie parts, instead she used them to make "big girls toys" (no I'm not referring to anything naughty in here).

Very creative necklace made out of Barbie doll parts

Barbie Earrings

Well ok, maybe they are a bit naughty - just take a look at those boob necklaces. Care about wearing Ken's imaginary *coughs* wiener around your neck?

Barbie Rings

Some might say it's cool, some think it's trashy, creepy... I'd say it's pretty kinky in a good way, these certainly do look sweet (not cute though) but too expensive. I mean come on - 150 bucks for a pair of Barbie hands?! Arrrrgh...

Various Barbie parts

You can make these by yourself, all you need are some old Barbie dolls, a pair of sharp scissors, some super glue and those silver parts. With all that you can make yourself 5 neat pairs of Barbie earrings, necklaces and brooches and what's best - it will all cost you less than one pair of Margaux's earrings. However if you don't feel like doing it just go to Etsy and buy yourself something.

her neck. Hmmmmm.

Is this jewelry for children or adults. Who would wear Barbie's legs as
a charm bracelet! Very different, you certainly do think outside of the box
LB  - sooo cool!   |2008-11-26 07:25:11
I love this jewelry!

Nooooooooo! Barbie body parts in bundles worn as jewelry is creeeeeeepy. I
modify Barbies and make stop motion movies with them and with "hybrids"
of Barbie parts and plastic animals/monsters, along with other doll parts. But I
would not make or wear a Barbie boob pendant or charm necklace made of hands or
feet.

It would be interesting if her work were larger in scale and either
displayed as an installation or sculpture.

I think it's pretty cool.
Very ... odd ... but neat, in a way.
Besides,
it's better than just tossing them away - it's recycling!

Awesome way to recycle dolls. I particularly love the pieces using the hands and
arms! Love it!
